Derived from the Aleppo Soap originating of the Antique Syria, the Black Soap - also called Beldi soap, has been broadcast and exported all over the Mediterranean Rim.
In Morocco, it was first made in the region of Essaouira. Its basic composition rests on a special mixture of Olive Oil and Vegetable Soda for its use has therefore become forevermore detrimental to care rituals in the Hammams.
